Drug wildman Pete Doherty has failed to honor his promise to buy a guitar from a music store where he played an impromptu gig earlier this month.The Babyshambles singer treated shoppers to a performance in a Reading, England music store, but his music-making was cut short after he accidentally broke a string on his guitar. And despite the mishap, it seemed Doherty was impressed with the goods on offer at the Music Man shop - even asking owner Peter Sirrell to leave aside a $300 guitar which he would return to pay for. But the singer has failed to honor his potential purchase, and hasn’t been seen in the store since the mini-gig. Sirrell says, "I’m not surprised he didn’t come back - he didn’t seem too with it (in a fit mental state)."

Hollywood star George Clooney is planning to walk away from acting before he hits 60, to concentrate on film-making full-time. After finding fame infront of the camera, Clooney has been expanding into writing and directing in recent years, with the Oscar-nominated Good Night, and Good Luck and his new movie Leatherheads. And now the 46-year-old say's he is prepared to make the switch full-time when he’s too old to play leading men anymore. Clooney says, "I certainly would do that with the acting part. "I’m fairly comfortable with the idea of growing into a grey-haired old character actor. But the reason I’m directing and writing is that it’s a world that will allow me to be creative long after people stop wanting to see me in front of a camera."

The source says, "Being able to do what they love most, and do it together, is helping them to remain as optimistic as possible."

A Hollywood auction featuring Michael Keaton's Batman costume and dinosaurs from the Jurassic Park movies has proved a huge success and raised a $4.1 million. The 31st Profiles In History auction’s top seller was a rare King Kong six-foot film poster, one of only three known to exist, which sold for $345,000 which was over $100,000 more than the reserve price. Other hits at the event included the Batman costume worn by Keaton in Batman Returns, which was snapped up by a superhero fan for $103,500, with Charles Middleton’s Ming The Merciless cape from 1936 movie classic Flash Gordon selling for $115,000.

Singing star Kylie Minogue will not announce her engagement to lover Olivier Martinez during a live concert, according to the event’s organizers. JOE PERRY HAS KNEE REPLACEMENT

Aerosmith rock star Joe Perry is recovering in hospital after undergoing knee replacement surgery. The guitarist put the operation off for two years so he could fulfil the band’s touring commitments. The surgery was performed last Tuesday morning and Perry has since been moved to a private room, where he will continue to recuperate. The 57-year-old is expected to stay off his feet for much of 2008. The procedure was successful. No word yet when he will once again go on tour with the famous band.

SEAN COMBS ASSAULT CASE SETTLED

Rap King Sean Combs has settled a lawsuit with a man who accused the rap mogul of punching him in the jaw. Gerard Rechnitzer alleged the hip-hop hit maker hit him at a post-Oscars party at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in 2007, after he objected to Combs’ attempts to woo his fiancee. The rap and fashion mogul was scheduled to stand trial on assault charges in May, even though he didn’t face any criminal charges in relation to the incident because police found no cause for Rechnitzer’s complaint when they investigated the altercation. However, on Friday, Combs’ attorney filed a legal document in Los Angeles to say the case has been settled. The terms of the settlement have not been disclosed.

I am calling for everyone that reads Times Square Gossip to boycott The Bank Of America. I have had it with their underhanded business practices. If you have their credit cards or have a account in their bank, cancel it. I never look at credit card bills, I just pay them online every month. I never look at the interest rates, I just always assume that they are the same as always. Well yesterday I just happened to look for once and was I shocked. They raised my rates from 17 percent to almost 26 percent. I could not believe it. I always pay on time, I always pay 2 or three times the minimum due and I have had this card for years. My credit score is 702 which is considered excellent. I was outraged. I called them up today, and they told me they had sent me a notice last March ( One year I didn't notice the higher rate) and that I had the option of not using the card and still pay the low rate or if I used the card, the higher rate prevailed. I said, why would I care about a cheaper rate on a card if I couldn't use it and if I did I would pay the higher rate. I asked them why my rate was raised in the first place. They said they reviewed my account and I was now considered a higher risk. A higher risk? I pay on time, I always pay more than minimum, and I have a high credit score. They said that's what they decided but since I was unhappy, he could give me a rate of 23 point something. So I said let me get this straight, " I pay on time on the credit card for years, I pay more than minimum, I have a excellent history and score and this is the way you treat a customer for many years?" I told him to cancel my credit card. I don't want to deal with a sleazy bank like Bank Of America." I am paying off the credit card in full when the final bill arrives ( Besides it's only 15 hundred owed anyway) and next week I am canceling my checking and savings accounts with them too. They charge higher rates than the Mafia. This is also just one horror story on The Bank Of America. I have so many more on what they have done over the years to my checking accounts. I never switched because I have several direct deposits and didn't want to go through the task of finding another bank and calling all my direct deposits and switching them. But now I will find a new bank this week and The Bank Of America can go FU*K themselves. I have millions of readers, and I urge anyone that has accounts with them to close them. Disgraced Hollywood star Tom Sizemore is hoping to stage a huge comeback after battling a series of legal and drug problems, by starring in a new Television drama. The fallen star has been offered the chance to bounce back after a career-threatening jail spell as the star of a groundbreaking new action Internet and TV series called The Acquirer. Sizemore will play a mysterious ex-CIA agent opposite the show’s director and star Matt Schulze, who plays a master thief. The actor says, "I’ve been away from filming for a while now, and it feels great getting back in front of the cameras again. "Matt is a powerful presence in this series, both in front of and behind the camera, and I am truly grateful that he has welcomed me to The Acquirer so openly. "I plan on giving him, and my fans, the best I have to offer. I’m back, and I’m having a great time." And Schulze says, "I am extremely happy to welcome Tom as a series regular on The Acquirer. Sizemore was released early from a 16-month prison sentence in December. He was jailed for eight months after violating his probation in relation to a 2004 methamphetamine conviction.

Singing superstar Madonna has angered the biological father of her adopted Malawian son David Banda by insisting the child would be dead if she hadn’t saved him. The icon and her director husband Guy Ritchie caused outrage in the African country in 2006 after she brought two-year-old Banda back to Britain, amid claims the couple side-stepped the official adoption process. And the singer is set for more controversy after saying in the upcoming issue of Interview Magazine: "He (David) wouldn’t have lived if I hadn’t taken him. It’s not even a possibility." But the remark has reportedly left Yohane Banda, the toddler’s peasant farmer father, "stunned", with a source close to the Malawian family telling U.K. newspaper The People: "Madonna should choose her words a bit more carefully. To say these things about David’s life before she adopted him is just not right." It is possible Madonna’s comment could be examined at next month’s hearing at a Malawian court, where an official decision over the adoption case will be made by a human rights panel.

Pop Singer John Mayer has written a scathing message to some ex-girlfriend on his Internet site, prompting speculation he is referring to former lover Jessica Simpson.The note refers to an ex who refused to accept their relationship had come to an end and Mayer warns the unnamed woman to "stop contacting" him. Although Mayer urges his fans not to "read too far" into his message, Internet gossip sites insist the message is aimed at Simpson, who Mayer dated for nine months before they split in May 2007. Mayer writes, "Dear Ex Lover, Perhaps you didn't understand the last time I told you to stop contacting me, so I'll do my best to spell it out for you. I do not wish to have you in my life anymore. "I don't know how much more clear I can be about it. It would serve you best to move on with your life and find someone who can put up with you, because I'm done trying. I hope this is enough closure for you."

The toxic singer wore a white beanie hat with dark sunglasses while she shopped at the store and chewed gum and blew bubbles. Her security detail was always with her and even fans were told not to take pictures while inside the store.

MADONNA AND THE HALL OF FAME HONOR

Singing star Madonna initially didn't like the prospect of her upcoming Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, because she was scared she would be thought of as a "musical dinosaur". The material girl was hesitant about receiving the tribute, which will see her 25-year musical career celebrated in New York this month. But the icon now accepts that being selected for the prize honoring legendary performers chosen by a more than 700 rock experts - is in fact hugely "flattering". The Music singer says, "I heard about it and I kind of felt ambivalent, like, ‘What is that, the place they put musical dinosaurs?’ "I didn’t really know what to think of it. But then lots of people explained to me that it’s an acknowledgement of singers and songwriters who have made a contribution in the world of music for 25 years, and so eventually I came around to the idea that it was flattering."

KEITH RICHARDS JOINS THE FASHION SET

Rolling Stones star Keith Richards has joined the high-end fashion set, after becoming the latest celebrity to feature in an international adverting campaign for luxurious fashion brand Louis Vuitton. The rock star posed for the designer’s new Core Values promo, which aims to remind consumers of the fashion house’s signature branded luggage accessories. The 64-year-old, who was snapped by legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz for the campaign, is pictured cradling his guitar in a hotel room, glaring at the camera. A tag line appears under the photograph, stating: "Some Journeys Cannot Be Put Into Words," hinting the musician’s well-worn face tells many a story. Head of communications for Louis Vuitton Antoine Arnault says, "He is a global icon, an inspiration to millions, and we are honoured that - after Mikhail Gorbachev, Catherine Deneuve, Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi - he has agreed to represent Louis Vuitton. "This is the first time ever that Keith Richards has participated in an advertising campaign of any sort, and it is hard to imagine a more compelling embodiment of a personal, emotional journey." As part of the campaign, Louis Vuitton is making a donation to The Climate Project - spearheaded by Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore, on behalf of Keith Richards.

PATRICIA ARQUETTE BANS DAUGHTER

Sexy star Patricia Arquette is banning her five-year-old daughter from becoming a child actress, because she fears of exposing the tot to the "dangerous, weird world" of Hollywood. Harlow Olivia Calliope spends time with Arquette on the set of her TV show Medium, but the actress is careful to protect her daughter with the help of actor husband Thomas Jane. She says, "It’s dangerous for kids to be part of what is, in truth, a weird world, where all our needs are met, where there’s always someone to give you clothes, get you a doughnut, get you anything. "You see it with lots of actors who become self-indulgent. A parent must be cautious."

KATE BECKINSALE'S X RATED FEATURE

Hollywood star Kate Beckinsale is pissed she can’t show off her best feature to photographers, without copying Britney Spears and posing without underwear. The sexy actress is admired by male movie fans around the world, but she insists very few men get to see her favorite body part.Beckinsale tells Allure magazine, "My best feature is unfortunately a private matter, although I’m told it is spectacular. But you can’t really walk it down the red carpet. What can I say?" The Brit also hits out at her reputation for being a "slut", which started when she left ex-partner Michael Sheen for current husband Len Wiseman. She adds, "I was called a slut when I split up with Michael and began seeing Len, but I’ve only ever had about three boyfriends. Only a handful of people have seen into the Pharaoh’s Tomb!"

AMY WINEHOUSE DENIES BEING IN FIGHT

Rehab singer Amy Winehouse is denying rumors she was involved in a fight and is putting her bruised and swollen face down to a mystery skin infection. The troubled star fuelled speculation she may have suffered a blow to the cheek after she was photographed on Friday with a painful-looking swelling on the side of her face. But Winehouse’s official spokesman insists the singer has come down with a mystery illness and is seeking medical help. He tells British newspaper the Daily Star, "Amy has a skin infection which is why her face looks the way it does. At this stage she has no idea what it is but she’s getting to a doctor to try and identify the problem."She’s not in any pain but, obviously, she wants to get it sorted as soon as possible."

VAMPIRE CHRIS THOMPSON HIT BY CAR

Vampire Weekend rock star Chris Thompson has suffered a head injury after he was hit by a car in London England.The drummer with the U.S. band was involved in a collision with a vehicle outside the Hoxton hotel at around 12:30 a.m. following Thursday's NME Awards. Thompson was treated by medical staff after an ambulance was called, and was taken to the Royal London Hospital following the incident.

HAYDEN PANETTIERE ON HER BREAKUP

Hollywood star Hayden Panettiere is speaking for the first time about her split from boyfriend Stephen Colletti, revealing she just wanted some time alone.The actress ended her one-year relationship with the "Laguna Beach" star last September, insisting the pair had parted on amicable terms. Panettiere, who is now dating her "Heroes" co-star Milo Ventimiglia, admits she desperately needed her own space. She tells Seventeen magazine, "I just knew I wanted to breathe. I wanted to be single at the time. It just hit me like a ton of bricks -- this is the time I need to be with myself."She also admits she's not an easy girlfriend: "It takes such a secure person to be with someone like me; it takes so much confidence, it takes so much trust."
